So if you are a procrasinating, ADHD type person and keep telling yourself enough times "I'll update my site later/tomorrow/when I have time" it will suddenly become a whole new year!

I want to keep some kind of book log this year but I'm not sure how to set it up. I don't do Goodreads, part of my personal, one-person fight against Amazon. That would have made setting something up easier because I think you can link to your bookshelf on that site. I guess I could just do a link page, kind of a running update like my updates page. I was thnking about setting up a reading journal page and that sent me on a deep dive for old school library/books/reading graphics which led me to interesting places but did nothing to making my idea of a page into a reality. I guess I will just PONDER this some more! I'm good at pondering and planning and making lists - it's in the actual execution of things where I totally and completely fail. Anyway, until I get something going, let the record state that so far in the month of January I have finished 3 books:

Another website change I've been thinking about is putting all of my text into solid background divs (like the blog entries). I love the wild background and I tried my best to figure out a color/font combo that would be easy to read but I keep thinking that a solid background would be even easier. I don't know ... it's another ponderable.

I am making slow progress on my awesome cat cross stitch project that I've been working on for years now. It's not complicated - I'm not a fast nor a consistent stitcher. But I've been doing pretty good lately and I was even going to take a new picture to post my progress when I realized that a whole section had been mis-stitched by one row. AARRGH! Cue the unstitching and lots of muttering under the breath. I'm finally getting ready to restitch that section. I like to have something playing while I stitch - either a podcast or something on the TV. Lately I've been having episodes of This Old House playing. It's interesting but not something I actually have to LOOK at constantly.

The cats are doing well. We're still doing the "Dance of What Cat Food Will You Eat This Week". If you haven't read the Cats section, Maya has early renal failure and I'm trying to find a food she will eat. We tried the veterinary diets but she barely tolerated them and started losing weight. The vet had decided that she should go ahead and eat the Fancy Feast that the older cat, Celine, gets. I have dry kidney diet kibble (currently Royal Canin Renal Support) out at all times, so the vet thought this would kind of balance things - Maya would be able to put some weight back on and still have some food (the kibble) that would be easier on her kidneys. We did that for a while (and let me tell you, Maya is totally Team Fancy Feast) but I did some searching and found a company, Weruva, that makes non-prescription, low-phosphorous wet food. I bought some multi packs on Chewy and so far what she seems to really like is the Chicken and Tilapia in Gravy. Weruva also has a style called steak frites which wasn't specifically formulated to be low-phos but actually is.
