Off the Beaten Path
From Dictionary.com:
Off the beaten path:An unusual route or destination, as in We found a great vacation spot, off the beaten track. This term alludes to a well-worn path trodden down by many feet and was first recorded in 1860, although the phrase beaten track was recorded in 1638 in reference to the usual, unoriginal way of doing something.
I love going to unusual, out-of-the-way, unexpected places. It's amazing what you can find, sometimes practically in your own backyard! Here are some of the adventures I've been on:
- World Famous Crochet Museum (Joshua Tree, California)
- Shaffer Fish Bowl Spring (Golden Valley, Arizona)
- Roy Purcell Murals (Chloride, Arizona)
- Galleta Meadows Metal Sculptures (Borrego Springs, California)
- Nellie E Saloon AKA The Desert Bar (Parker, Arizona)
- Coolidge Dam (Peridot, AZ)
- Arcosanti (Mayer, AZ)
- Arizona Falls (Phoenix, AZ)
