Business Cat

Before I even get into things, let me just say that I have conflated in my head 2 different memes. When I say "Business Cat," I'm thinking of this kitty:

Cat meme. Side view photo of a real cat sitting at a desk, wearing a blue business suit. There is a window mostly covered with a white curtain. There is a white china cup and saucer to the cat's side and he appears to be holding a newspaper but has lowered it and is looking off in the distance. The caption underneath states I should buy a boat.

There is an actual business cat used for memes and it is this one:

Photo of a short-haired black cat wearing a white collar and a plaid tie in shades of yellow, green and blue. He is staring wide-eyed, straight ahead. The background are triangles of color. Going clockwise from the top right the colors are light green, tan, red, purple, aqua blue and orange.

In my defense, I don't think it's wrong to call the first one a business cat because, IF you're a cat AND you're considering buying a boat, then I think you may very well be a Business Cat.

Anyway.

Are you ever struck, like Buy a Boat (clearly a Business) Cat is, with a sudden inspiration? A banger of an idea that comes out of nowhere and would be SO COOL to put into action? I am struck with awesome ideas all the time. Buy a Boat Cat lives in my head.

This is why I own a didgeridoo.

Photo of a didgeridoo stood up on top of an ottoman against a white wall. It is about 4 feet high and there is a lizard design made mostly of little dots of color. The wood is a medium brown.

I was stuck one year on what to get Best Son for either Christmas or his birthday. I always tried to get him something unique and that he wouldn't have bought for himself but, at least for me, figuring out presents is hard! I somehow landed on the idea of a didgeridoo.

And then I thought, man, this actually sounds so cool!

So I got both of us didgeridoos from (where else?) The Didgeridoo Store! Do I actually play it? I can make it blat an unholy noise. Have I worked at getting better? Well, Buy a Boat Cat is really about the Big Idea. Implementation is clearly a different team's job.

I love the movie Labyrinth. Remember the Goblin King doing this?

I have seen the movie several times and was always amazed but it ended there. And then one day when I was watching it (again), you know what happened.

And this is why I now own a Fushigi Magic Gravity Ball.

Not my actual ball, just a random ebay listing photo

Can I do a juggling showdown with the Goblin King, much like the fiddling showdown with the Devil that Charlie Daniels sang about? Let's just say I can play the didgeridoo better than I can manipulate that particular ball.

Like I said, Buy a Boat Cat lives in my head. I get these, "Hey! I should..." moments so often that "business catting" has become a family verb.

ME: Best Son, I had a great idea!

BEST SON: (warily) Have you been business catting again?

What about you? Have you had any Business Cat moments of your own?
