Blaugust 2026: First Post
I was really on the fence about joining Blaugust this year. Last year was my first year participating and it was fun! I now do a weekly tiara post, directly because of writing a Blaugust post last year about about how, when starting my blog, it was almost a dedicated tiara blog. So that was a pretty cool outcome of having joined last year.
But did I really need to join again this year? Did I have something I needed to achieve? I have a nice steady blog posting schedule of one weekly update and one tiara post and an occasional random jewel post (well, one so far but I have plans for others!). I felt like I was pretty set on my blogging path but I was still waffling about whether or not to join up this year.
I had pretty much firmly decided for sure that I wasn't going to do Blaugust. Until this morning when I took a look at my little notebook where I write down ideas. I noticed I still have 14 topic ideas for posts from last year that I never wrote about during Blaugust 2025 and that haven't made it into any of my weekly posts. I took that as a sign and here I am!
There are some weekly prompts in this blog post on Nerd Girl Thoughts. I'll finish up this post by answering the Week 1 questions.
- What made you decide to do Blaugust this year, and what are your personal goals? - Pretty much already answered that above!
- Did you start preparing for Blaugust before the August 1st start date? If so, what did you do ahead of time to make sure you’d stay on track? - As stated above, this was a completely spur-of-the-moment decision! Stay on track? What's that? This is all going to be vibes and by the seat of my pants!
- Do you remember how you heard about Blaugust for the first time? - I'd seen Blaugust posts from other users show up on my Neocities feed.
- If this isn’t your first Blaugust, what keeps you coming back to do this year after year? - Well, this year unfinished business brings me back! Last year I did really enjoy getting to find out about and explore blogs that were new to me and I look forward to getting the chance to explore new blogs this year.
- Community Builder Bonus Prompt: Who are the Blaugust bloggers who you keep reading all year round? - Not sure if I'll be going for the Community Builder badge but I'll answer the question anyway: Aywren's Nook, ribo.zone and the Tangent Space.
