front page of a theater program. It is very vaporwave in color, with lots of pinks, purples and blues. The central image is a woman's face and neck. She is tinted blue. Her short, wavy hair is dark purple. She is wearing light blue glasses with what appear to be pink lenses and her eyes are looking upwards. She is in front of a huge moon that is yellow at the top and gradually fades to orange at the bottom. It is shining through a large window with square panes and what look like heavy velvet curtains pulled to the side. There are butterflies and mushrooms and some nondescript plants. In front of her in what looks like pink neon script is Midsummer Night's Dream. Below her is a turntable with a Walkman placed on the right corner. At the bottom it says Where 80's pop meets iambic Pentameter.

For several years Best Son and I have been going to plays put on by one of the local community college theater departments. We must've seen about a half dozen and we've always enjoyed them. Last week they had their summer program put on Midsummer Night's Dream ... but 80s. It was really neat! They replaced some of the dialog with snippets of 80s songs and everyone was dressed 80s. Loved it - we had such a good time!

I received another batch of mail club goodies! I got a postcard and a bookmark from Ren-O-Graphics. I'll also show off the back of the envelope.

Postcard with figure of a girl facing forward but with her head turned to the side and holding one arm at her side and one over her head. She is wearing a short-sleeved green shirt with horizontal and vertical blue lines making a checked pattern. The collar is white with long points and decorative markings on the edges. Her long hair is red with a braid behind her and a braid on her front. There are tendrils of hair at her neck, ear and forehead. Her eyes are closed and her cheeks, lips and nose are pink. The arm above he head has green line tattoos of an anchor, a fish, a hook and ropes. The background is black with line etchings of what could be starfish, dots, flowers on leafy stems. The edges of the background are scalloped. Just above each scallop is a green circle. Front and back of a bookmark with 2 intertwined orca. Behind the orca is green seaweed and a red starfish. The front side is in color and the back side is in black ink on a light cardboard background. blue envelope with artwork printed in black ink. At the top is a line of waves with the words Smooth Seas Never Made a Silly Sailor or Something Like That... written in a script font. There is a submarine capsule at the bottom with 3 portholes in the middle and a face in each porthole. Surrounding the sub are bubbles, jellyfish, a school of fish, a long, large, skinny fish and an angelfish. At the bottom, under the submarine, are the words REN-O-GRAPHICS Mail Club.

Blue Bike Art sent a postcard, 3 stickers and a chatty note. It didn't show up on the scan but the stickers have shiny silver holographic spots where the firefly and dismalites have glow spots and the background of the railroad worm is also shiny silver holographic.

postcard with a night time scene in a pond. The pond is full of lilypads and tall grasses. Everything is in muted dark blues as it is night. There are lots of bugs flying around, mostly butterflies, moths and dragonflies. There are some beetles in the tall grasses and two fireflies are perched on the tallest grass with their lights shining down on some lilypads. On the left on a lilypad is a cricket playing a banjo and on the right on a lilypad is a turtle playing a fiddle. The insects and lilypads in the fireflies' light are all brightly colored. 3 stickers on one sheet of bugs that glow - a synchronus firefly, a railroad worm and a dismalites. It doesn't show in the scan but the firefly and dismalites have shiny silver holographic glow areas while the railroad worm background is the same shiny silver holographic material.

Listening

Some podcasts I listened to this week:

And I listened to several episodes of History and Coffee, the Tudor YouTube channel I follow. The episodes I listened to were:

Reading

I finished Crisis on Doona this week and I am feeling very meh about it which is a bummer because, like I said, I really enjoyed the first book in the series, Decision at Doona. The main antagonist had no nuance - he was a caricature of a villain. It was very Snidely Whiplash. Also, the book involves a felinoid species who, when speaking English, pronounce Ts as Zs and double up on the Rs because alien felines and their lip situation. I can't prove it because it's not like I took notes but I really had the sense that these vocal tics were not consistent throughout the book.

I have the third book, Treaty Planet, and I've started it, mainly because I have nothing else lined up.

Watching

I finished up the final season of Grantchester. That was bittersweet because it was a favorite series but the final episode was nicely wrapped up and even though the series ended, it ended well.

I have started watching All Creatures Great and Small. I was holding off on watching it because one of my friends, many months ago, mentioned something about having a girls' night and binge watching the show. I caught up with her this week and she said she's pretty sure she's already watched this season so I'm in the clear to go ahead and watch them. So far I've just watched the first episode.

OK, that's about it for this week!
