I am a fan of Downton Abbey and so is one of my friends. One of my favorite things about it is all the beautiful costuming. We went out this weekend to watch the movie, Downton Abbey the Grand Finale. I thought it was pretty good and wrapped things up nicely. My friend had suspicions that they might try to get another movie or series out of this but there is currently an auction going on for items and props from the series so I'm pretty sure they meant it when they said this would be the last one.
Tomorrow will be the last visit Ceelo the cat has with me before I get him for a whole weekend. I went out today and bought some Churu (cat goop in a tube treats) for him. His mama says he hasn't had that before so I'm hoping he will enjoy it!
Reading
I finished CJ Cherryh's Hellburner today. I said last week that I was going to pause this series and read a different genre because I need a little break but I just don't know what I want to read. I looked through all the titles I'm interested in on my library app but none of them seem particularly exciting at this moment. And I've got some things already downloaded on the e-reader that will be interesting one of these days but, right now, just aren't appealing to me. I need some escapism but something different from the sci-fi space opera with lots of politics that I was reading. I have no idea what that might be, though!
Watching
I knew there was a remake of the old Andy Griffith Matlock series but I was never interested enough in it to check it out. But then the Roku lured me with promises of watching it for free on PlutoTV (the cost being sitting through commercials) and oh my gosh! There is one season with 19 episodes and I binged it this weekend. It was so good! There are both cases of the week and one that stretches through the whole season. I thought it was just about an old lady lawyer but it's a little more involved than that. If you end up giving it a try on PlutoTV, just beware that they didn't have episodes 13 and 14 for some reason? I had to find those by another method.
I haven't started watching the series I was so excited about finding last week, Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace, but I have made it to season 4 in Babylon 5.
Big Cats 24/7 has finally started back up on PBS! The first episode was already pretty exciting! The lion pride is absolutely huge - 40 pride members! There are cubs of all ages but the 2 adult male lions have been MIA and a group of 4 intruder males have moved into the territory. A cheetah mom and her 2 halfgrown cubs had a nervous standoff with some lions and a leopard hanging up in a tree with his kill had it swiped by a tree-climbing lioness. I'm telling you, this series is better than any soap opera.
That's it for this week!
