- The Glitch Gallery - online compendium of accidental art achieved through software bugs. Kind of radical, I think, to embrace the unexpected and appreciate the "mistake" for its inherent artistic qualities.
- Sci-fi Interfaces - This is some deep nerd stuff - this site is all about analyzing interfaces found in science fiction movies and TV shows.
- AirlineMeals.net - You may have seen this already as it appears to be making the rounds. I think it's kind of neat, though, to see what's being served.
I have no cross-stitch project to show off this week. I'm almost finished with the current project, Catris. It's going slower than the last few projects because there is a lot of black floss on black fabric with this piece and it just hasn't been as fun to stitch as the other pieces I've been doing. Not sure what my next piece will be but it will be colorful and not on black aida!
I like coffee but Best Son really likes his coffee! We're always up to try a new coffee place. I found one that not only had a couple of coffee drinks that I know he likes (coffee old-fashioned and cortado) but also had macarons! It was a cute little place - very pink! You can buy the macarons by the piece or in boxes of 6, 12, 24, 36 or 48. We each got a 6-piece box. My flavor choices were churro, lavender, unicorn fruity pebble, lemon, cake batter and raspberry. Stand out flavors were lemon and churro - very strong and vibrant! The lavender and raspberry were very delicate flavors - I wish they had been stronger. The cake batter tasted just like cake batter (which I love, so that's a plus for me!) and the unicorn fruity pebble tasted as sweet as it sounds.

The coffee drinks were kind of disappointing. They were very sweet and very weak on coffee taste. Mine was called Summer in Paris which was White Chocolate infused with house made lavender made with oat milk, iced. It looked pretty, with dried lavender sprinkled on top but the coffee taste (as well as the alleged lavender!) was so very faint. Mainly it was just milky sweetness. Best Son opted for a Banana Crème Brûlée iced drink which was equally weak and sweet. Despite the disappointing drinks, I'm glad we went since it's fun to try out new places even though they don't always work out.
Listening
Best Son sent me a text late one night, way past his bed time, telling me to check out this new Public Enemy tune:
I gotta say, my electronic music loving self likes this! I have an old iPod Nano 5th Gen and, if I like something, it's iPod material. So this is the metric he and I judge songs by - is it iPod material? This one is.
I found an interesting podcast which is based on murder cases found on the Medieval Murder Map. I've only listened to the first episode so far, the case of an apple thief who ended up getting killed by someone who was trying to help out the apple vendor. It was interesting and I will be listening to more episodes.
Reading
I finished the 4th Amelia Peabody mystery, Lion in the Valley, and started on the 5th, The Deeds of the Disturber. As much as I have been enjoying her adventures, I'm feeling like after this one it might be time to take a break and read something else. I just don't know what. I have plenty of books to choose from, I just don't know which one I want to read!
Watching
I'm still in season 1 of my Babylon 5 rewatch. The last episode I watched was "Eyes," where Sinclair gets grilled by an internal affairs investigator and Garibaldi shares his love of motorcycles with Lennier.
I finished the current season of Harry Wild on AcornTV. The new season of Madam Blanc should be starting next week. Neither one of those shows are very serious, they're just fun and good options for when I'm cross-stitching.
I have never watched Taskmaster, although I'd heard of it. Best Son rectified that situation while we were feasting on our macarons and coffee drinks. He showed me episode 1 of season 14 - that season specifically because of Sarah Millican and Fern Brady, who I quite like. I now have another good cross-stitching show!
OK, I think that's it for this week!
