Tomorrow is Eclipse Day! Where I live we will only be getting about 60% coverage but a partial eclipse is still pretty cool. I have some eclipse glasses from the one in 2017 and I also have a pair of sunoculars - basically binoculars but the lenses are solar filters. When there isn't an eclipse going on you can use them to view sunspots.

Not a whole lot happened this past week to blog about. I worked, I came home, I went back to work. That was pretty much it!

My son usually stops in to visit me on the weekend. Today he picked up dinner from one of our favorite sandwich places and we watched an episode of Roadkill, which is one of our shows we watch together. I know absolutely nothing about cars, I don't work on them - heck, I do maintenance by dash light. I know, I'm awful, I'm one of *those* car owners. But even though I don't know the first thing about car parts, this is such a fun show to watch! It's totally because the guys have such fun doing what they do.

Reading

I finished The Kamogawa Food Detectives, which I wrote about last week. It was such a sweet book! There is going to be a second book in the series coming out later this year. I am very much looking forward to it!

Another book that had been on my library hold list became available, Black River Orchard by Chuck Wendig. I follow T. Kingfisher/Ursula Vernon on Bluesky and Tumblr and that was how I found out about Wendig and his latest book. Now, I don't usually dig horror. I really don't like being scared and creeped out, which is strange because when I was a teen I went through a phase when I was reading Stephen King and Dean Koontz. But this sounded intriguing. The book is very reminiscent of early Stephen King and there is a fair amount of gross stuff that happens. But darn it, it's grabbed my attention! I'm about 2/3 of the way through it and I'm not sure I can say I'm enjoying it but I do find the story compelling.

Watching

I've been watching The Durrels in Corfu in the evenings. This series only had 4 seasons and there were only like 6-8 episodes per season. I've just started season 3 and I'm trying to ration them out.

I've also been keeping up with AntsCanada and his vivarium world, Pantdora. I'm telling you, this is like a soap opera! Long time residents have died, new residents have moved in - there's a lot going on and AntsCanada narrates it with such DRAMA.

Well, that's it for now. See you all next week!
