Yesterday was my birthday. I don't know if it's because I've had a few at this point (54) or what but this year I wasn't really hyped about it. I don't mean that in a bad way. It was just an extremely low key day.
I went to a wonderful middle eastern restaurant with my son for dinner. We both had their sampler platter which came with 3 skewers: beef chunks, chicken kabob and lamb kifta kabob. Sides were rice, Greek salad, hummus with pita and a falafel. It was so good! Then we went to one of the local theaters which is showing classic movies on the rooftop of the parking garage during our cooler months. This week's showing was Aliens. Love that movie but think I like the original a little bit more. I have a future afternoon tea date with one of my friends that we'll set up when both of our schedules match up. And I have a breakfast get together planned with my 2nd mom (actually ex-mother-in-law but seriously, she's like my 2nd mom) on the 17th.
I did a little bit of shopping - got some nice socks from Sock Dreams and also a green Lighted Mercury Glass Sphere - I hope it's as cool as it looks! I have my eyes on a couple other things I'm interested in purchasing using the reason "it is/was my birthday".
It had been a while since I kept up with Pixil Art's daily challenges but I want to get into that again. So, yesterday's challenge was "feather" and I think I did a pretty good one. Today's was "canyon" and that kind of threw me for a loop since I'm at the stickman level of artistic ability. But I did something very minimalist and it's ok. I'm going to eventually throw them up on my pixel art page but for now I have a link to my Pixil Art profile on that page if you wanted to see them.
I feel like there's probably more I could say, especially since I haven't posted a blog entry in a while, but I also think that if I don't wrap this up and get it posted then it might not get posted. So let me get this sent out into the ether.
