So ... it's been a while. Where have I been? I've been sucked into the world of pixel art. I'm so amazed by all the cute pixel art and also the scenes that people have created. I so want to be able to do this, too! But, I am absolutely not an artist. My mom was, my son is ... that gene seems to have skipped generations.

I've been checking out some tutorials, which I talked about in another blog post, and I created an account on Pixilart and have been doing some of the daily challenges. I'm very much at a beginner level but we all have to start somewhere, right?

Reading has been going slow. I'm working on a Barbara Hambly novel now, Circle of the Moon, which is the second in a series. I've been trying to borrow my books from the library to read on my Kindle. A lot of books I want to read aren't available in that format so I find myself searching out older books and series.

I've also beenbusy with an Acorn murder mystery series, Recipes for Love and Murder. I'm really enjoying it - I find the characters engaging, the mystery is keeping me hooked and the cinematography is beautiful. It's set in South Africa but some of the scenery really reminds me of the areas of my state that are north and east of where I am.

I'm not entirely sure I'm happy with the links on the main page. I love the graphics by them but I was trying to get away from having a sidebar because I'd like the site to be somewhat legible on mobile devices and the easiest way to accomplish that with my skills was just to get ride of the sidebar totally. I guess it's ok? I don't know. I have a Motorola Android phone and it does look kind of squished if I don't rotate the phone to landscape viewing. I'm still trying to formulate a plan on what I want to to do or if I'll do anything. Perhaps I'll just do what I usually do and think an issue to death without actually doing something about it.
