OK, I think I did it! I have a blog! Woot!

I've been contemplating creating a blog. I've had websites before but blogging is a new thing for me. It will probably end up the same way all my attempts at journaling have ended up - good intentions quickly peter out. We'll see...

I finished 2 library books today - To Green Angel Tower (Tad Williams) and First Frost (Sarah Allen Addison). To Green Angel Tower is the third book in a triology. I had read it years ago and thought it was due for a reread. Wow, it was so awesome! Great, epic fantasy storytelling. It had been long enough since I'd read it that it was almost like reading it for the first time. First Frost is a genre they're calling "magical realism." It's all about a town in North Carolina where every family has certain traits and the main characters live in a house with a mind of its own and an apple tree in the backyard that will pitch apples at you if it doesn't like you. It's really a sweet book - a little bit of romance but very light, some magic. Just a really nice, easy read. Kind of a palate cleanser after the epic book!
